These are the limits for an AdWords account:

  • 500 campaigns (includes active and paused campaigns)
  • 20,000 ad groups per campaign
  • 5,000 keywords per ad group
  • 300 display ads per ad group (includes image ads)
  • 50 text ads per ad group
  • 3 million keywords per account
  • 10,000 location targets (targeted and excluded) per campaign, including up to 500 proximity targets per campaign*

Pay Per Click / Adwords – Are You Targeting The Right Placement?

Many people think that they must be in the top position to get clicks and results. That strategy will guarantee you lose money on Adwords most of the time.

The cost to land in position 1 and 2 most of the time, for most keyword phrases will be 2-3 times more than targeting positions 3-5.

The perfect position to target today is likely between 3 and 5. With Google always changing the way ads are displayed, I tend to target position 3.5 or 4.5 depending on the client’s niche and market.

This strategy will keep you costs at it’s lowest point for maximum impressions and clicks.
